During the construction of this site two Java applets were written to enliven the presentation of these pages and to demonstrate some of the features of PhotoOp. I am making these applets available to the public on an as is basis in hopes that they may prove both useful to you and at the same time provide some promotion for these pages. The Heading.class applet provides a dynamic heading of variable text, font, position, and background which may also serve as a hypertext link. The PhotoOp.class applet provides a scaleable framework within which to display a list of GIF or JPEG images on a web page either as a scrolling collage or as a titled slide show with a variety of other optional features. The operation of these applets is demonstrated on this and other pages of this site. If you wish to use these applets on your own pages, please download Applets.exe (5/14/97)(209,374 bytes). This file is a self-extracting 32-bit zip file which preserves the long file names. It contains all the necessary class, image, and HTML (test.htm) files, as well as detailed documentation in Word (Applets.doc), text (Applets.txt) and HTML (Applets.htm) format. If you download and expand Applets.exe in a Windows 95 or NT environment (other computers may require some additional tinkering) and invoke test.htm with Windows Explorer or your browser, this page should be produced. This package should provide sufficient information to incorporate these applets. Should you have additional questions, comments or suggestions, please e-mail me. When you use these applets on your site, send me the url and I'll put a reciprocal link on my site.
