APMap Library for Borland Delphi

APMap is a shareware component library for reflecting numeric data on geographical maps and schemes in your programs. APMap automatically paints objects of your map patterns in different colors associated with data for corresponding territories, so you receive obvious graphic view of territorial data from your databases.

DESCRIPTION

The most natural way to show territorial data is geographical map. APMap is not a complex GIS (geoinformation system) but a set of components for including geographical view of numeric data into your programs. There are several methods of assigning colors to map objects in APMap; you may select necessary method and set its properties to receive the most visual representation of data.

Several sample map patterns included into APMap setup, but you may prepare map pattern (vector-based multilayer drawing) yourself by means of APMap Editor utility. You may vectorize your map there, select active layer for data output (e. g., layer with polygons of countries, provinces, districts and so on) and bind objects of this layer to corresponding territories in database (codes of territories are assigned to map objects).

You may show numeric data that were generated by your program (TAPMapData component) or loaded from database (TAPDBMapData component) on visual component TAPMapDataView (descendant of TAPMapView component). Map pattern may be included into application or may be stored in separate file to be opened by program when necessary.

INSTALLATION

1. Unzip setup files.

2. Run Setup.exe file and install APMap.

3. Install help files in Delphi. Copy HELP\APMAP.HLP to the HELP subdirectory of Delphi directory. Load configuration file Delphi5.ohl (Delphi6.ohl, D7.ohl) in any text editor and add line:

:Link apmap.hlp

into the 'Third-party Help' section.
Delete all *.gid files from that directory.

4. Run Delphi and install APMAP components. Open package APMAP5.DPK (APMAP6.DPK, APMAP7.DPK) and install it into VCL, then open APDBMAP5.DPK (APDBMAP6.DPK, APDBMAP7.DPK) and install it.
