AppNanny, How to install and how to set it up.

System requirement:  

Operating systems: Microsoft Windows XP SP3, Vista SP1, Windows 7.
If you are not sure that your window satisfies this requirement, just do a 
Windows Update. To do Windows Update, go to Control Panel, System (and Security), Windows Update to do it.

If you do not have have Internet Explorer 7 or later, 
you should protect yur computer by updating your computer at Control Panel, Systems and Secrity, Windows Update.

x Section 1. Installation of App-Nanny

1.1. Login a computer user account with administrator's right. Call this account the Parents' account.
If there is only one user account, then the account should have administrator's right.

1.2 Download and save the app-Nanny's setup file from www.ann-nanny.com/get_appnanny.html. Open it.
Click App-Nanny's Setup.exe and follow the instruction provided by the installer.

1.3. App-Nanny will start automatically when the computer starts.

2.0. Before setting your parental control rules, login to the Parents' account, ie. computer account with administrator's right.

2.1. Run App-Nanny as an administrator. You can do this by right clicking App-Nanny's icon, Run as Administrator.

2.2 Press Settings button to setup your rules for App-Nannying.
You can hover your mouse cursor on the table column header to get more help.
 
To protect your rules from being changed by your kids,
you can save the rule changes only in the parent account.

a) Press Show Example of Settings to see an example and explanations for seting your rules.
You can edit this example to your liking and save it as yours.

b) Set your password by pressing Change Password Button.

c) Press Save. 

d) Press Start App-Nannying button.


2.3.  For best result, create standard user accounts for each of your kids.
Do not allow kids to use the Parents' account.
Otherwise, if they know computer good enough, 
they can use the administrator's right to disable or evade any parent control tools, including App-Nanny.
To setup a user account on the computer, Click Start button on the lower left corner of your computer's desktop, Help and Support. 
Type "Create a user account" in the search field and Enter.
Click the item "Create a user account" and follow the instructions there.
Use password to protect each account.
