To start debugging an EGL
text program, non-JEE basic program, or Rich
UI handler in an EGL debugging session, you need to establish a launch
configuration.
You can create a launch configuration yourself, or you can have the
EGL application
create one for you automatically. In relation to automatic configurations,
see Starting a non-JEE application in the EGL debugger or Rich
UI
debugging.
To start a program using a launch configuration
that you create yourself,
follow these steps:
- Click . The Debug window opens.
- In the left pane of the Debug window, click EGL Program.
- Click the New launch configuration at the
top of
that same pane. A new launch configuration is displayed below the EGL
Program heading. The Launch tab
is initially
displayed.
- In the Name field, type
a name for the launch configuration.
By default, the launch configuration has the same name as the program,
unless
a configuration already exists for this program.
- In the Project field
of the Load tab,
type the name of your project.
- In the EGL program
source file field, select the
program that you want to debug.
- If you are debugging a called
program that takes arguments, click the Arguments tab.
List the arguments for the program, in order, as you would in a call statement.
- If you need to use a different JRE than the default for this project,
click the JRE tab and complete the information
there.
- If you need additional Java™ classes
to run the program, specify
the paths for those classes on the Classpath tab.
- Add any needed source files on the Source tab.
- To set environment variables for the duration of the debug session
only,
type the names and values on the Environment tab.
- Click Apply to save the launch configuration
settings.
- Click Debug to launch
the program in the EGL
debugger.
Note: If you have not yet clicked Apply to
save
the launch configuration settings, clicking Revert will
remove all changes that you have made.
