The genDirectory build descriptor option
specifies the fully qualified path of the directory into which EGL
places generated output, control files, and results files.
When you are generating in the workbench, these rules apply:
- Java™ generation
- You can specify either genProject or genDirectory.
If both are specified, genProject is used.
If neither is specified, the default action is for the output to be
placed in the same project as the EGL source file being generated.
- COBOL generation
- You must specify genDirectory, and in
most cases EGL ignores any setting for genProject.
If the COBOL program is of type VGWebTransaction,
however, these statements apply:
- You may specify genProject, which indicates
a location for the Java-based objects that run in the Web application
server
- If you do not specify genProject, all
output is placed in the location identified in genDirectory
If you are generating from the EGL SDK, genDirectory is
required.
For details on deploying COBOL code, see the documentation for
your COBOL runtime product.
