What are User Settings?

'User Settings' are the permissions that are set up for each user.  This includes the Drives, Views and Plugins to which the user is given access.  It also includes User Drive Permissions. 

Setting User Settings

To set an existing user's settings, you must be a member of the admin group.  If so, proceed as follows:

• Click on Tools \ Users

    

The Security Administration dialog box will then pop up.  Ensure that you are in the Users tab.

    

• Select the user by clicking on the user's name. 

In the 'User admin' box, there are then two tabs, Details and Drive permissions.

• Select the Drives to which you want the User to have access.  To select more than one, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on each one.
• Select the Views that you want the User to have.  To select more than one View, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on each one.

• Select the Default drive for the user from the drop down menu.  If you select 'Use Group Default', then the user will automatically have the group's default virtual drive.  Only select a different default virtual drive if you wish the user to have a different one to the group.
• Click the Create user view checkbox if you wish the user to have permission to create their own views.
• Click on the Disable User checkbox if you wish to temporarily disable the user without deleting the user.
• The Self Service User checkbox allows the user to login in multiple locations.  This functionality is only available on the Enterprise license.
• Select any plugins from the Plugins list, if you wish to allow the user to have access to the functionality exposed by the plugin.  To select more than one plugin, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on each plugin.
• Click Update

The message 'User Information Updated' will be returned.
