Fluition Production Edition was designed to streamline the process of creating sophisticated interlinking multimedia presentations. When creating a robust streaming/multimedia experience, the need for multiple presentation files is common. Fluition has the capability for creating a series of presentation files and automatically inserting links to each of the files, as well as substituting media files from a list for the different presentations in the series. The Fluition Series producer will also modify the title of each presentation to reflect the clips and create a TextStream play list of the SMIL presentations.

Creating a series of SMIL presentations can have repetitive tasks that add to production time. The Fluition Series Producer makes these tasks easier to execute and maintain. The Series Producer has a number of features that help simplify the process for creating complex SMIL experiences. To open the Fluition Series Producer choose Series Producer from the Extras menu option and select New Series. |

Series Producer uses your existing presentation as a template for creating a series of SMIL presentations. Using the features contained within the Series Producer window, the creation of a group of related SMIL presentations is automated.
To create a series of presentations containing various video files from an existing presentation, first you will have to build the main presentation from which the series will be built. Along with your video Region and clip you may also want to add Regions that contains a graphic to be used to click on to move forward in the series of presentation as well as a Region and graphic that will be used to move back in the series of presentations.
The Media List is where a series of media can be assembled for use in a series of presentations. This list contains the media clips that will be substituted into a specified Region by using the Clip Source pop-up menu. To add media to the media list in Series Producer, click the Add button and browse the media you with to add to your series of presentations. Every media clip added to the clip list will be a new presentation. Every new presentation created by the Series Producer will contain all the detail of the existing presentation from which the series is being produced.
The Clip Source pop-up lists all of the clips contained within the open presentation. The clip selected in this pop-up will be the clip that is replaced by the clips contained within the Media List for the series of presentation.
The Previous and Next Clip pop-ups also list the clips contained within the presentation. The clips selected in these pop-ups will be used for inserting links to the previous and next presentations in the series. (Note: The first Previous link will link to the last presentation and the last Next link will link to the beginning.)
After the series has been created, the SMIL presentations can then be re-loaded into Fluition and modified like any other presentation. If no clip is selected in these pop-ups then the links will not be inserted.
To add a title to each new presentation that the Series Producer creates, click on each media clip in the media list and enter the title into the Title field and click Apply.
The File Name field displays the new media that will be added to the presentation in the series.
You may add a description to the new presentations that will be created for future reference by adding a description into the Description field and clicking Apply.
Selecting the Build button will create the presentation files in the series based on the presentation that is open in Fluition and using the information contained within the Series Producer window. The series of presentations will be built in the same folder as the original presentation file.
The plus and minus button will easily rearrange the order of your series.
Selecting the Create New Series menu option will open the Series Producer utility.
Selecting the Open Series menu option will allow you to open an existing series file.
Selecting the Save Series menu option allows you to save the series you are currently working on. Saving a series saves the contents of the media list but not the values of the pop-ups since a series could be produced from different Fluition presentations.
Selecting the Build Series menu option is the same as clicking the Build button and will create the presentation files in the series based on the presentation that is open in Fluition while using the information contained within the Series Producer window. The series of files will be built in the same folder as the original presentation file.
After a series has been built, Series Producer will also create a file called "playlist.RT" in the same directory as the series. This is a TextStream file containing the names and links to all of the presentations in the series. This file can be inserted into a Region within the presentations to offer easy navigational access to the presentations in the series. The playlist file can also be opened using the TestStream Builder in Fluition for further customization.
