# Favorite Terms:

PURPOSE: This sidebar plugin allows you to highlight search terms or links with a selected color.

FAVORITE TERMS: The boxes marked by a GREEN arrow are "persistent" -- the text you enter is stored in settings.ini. Just click on the green arrow to highlight your favorite terms on a web page (click the "Highlight all Tabs" checkbox to highlight a term on all tabs). Ctrl-Click on the green arrow to undo highlighting of the selected favorite term.

SELECTED TERM: The box marked by the RED arrow is "hot": you can either enter text to highlight, OR select text on a web page -- the selected text should appear in the search text box (the selected text is also stored in the clipboard). Just click on the red arrow to highlight the selected term on a web page (click the "Highlight all Tabs" checkbox to highlight a term on all tabs). Ctrl-Click on the red arrow to undo highlighting of the selected term.

NOTE that because MyIE2 has no way at present of notifying a plugin when a tab changes, this automatic entry of a selected term does not always work the first time text is selected. In this case, click in the text box and the selected term will appear. After that, other terms selected on the same page should automatically appear in the text box.

LINKS: The Links function will highlight all normal links on a page (however, links on some pages are not in standard HTML form, and thus will not be highlighted). Just click on the links icon to highlight the links on a web page (click the "Highlight all Tabs" checkbox to highlight links on all tabs). Ctrl-Click on the link icon to undo link highlighting.

COLOR SELECTION: The little color icon next to the text fields allows you to select a highlight color. Click to cycle through 5 pre-set colors. Ctrl-Click to pick a custom color.

HIT TALLYS: The hit tallys are for each search, cumulative across all pages if you check the "Highlight all Tabs" checkbox. You can copy the number by selecting and copying. Double clicking on a hit box clears it.

FRAMES: This plug-in works on most frames. However, if a frame resides on a different server than the main page, search terms in those frames will not be highlighted. Search terms also will not be highlighted if a result page is forwarded or refreshed.
