Q. What does that little bar mean? How do I interpret it?

A. The bar represents the used memory (if you selected this option) and if the bar filled more than 95% of the form, it means that you have almost no more free memory.

Q. Mem Viewer always says that I have 0% free. Why ?

A. This means only that you have no more free physical memory on your system. That's all. Windows is using disk cache to get virtual memory.

Q. I have 16mb of ram, nothing is running and Mem Viewer says that I have only 1mb free. Why ?

A. Window uses a lot of memory and in this case, the operating system takes almost all available physical memory.

Q. Mem Viewer says I have 29% free memory but my Computer Properties shows that system resources are at 56% free.

A. Window gives you the free system resources which are not the same thing as the free memory.

Q. How much ram does Mem Viewer itself take up ?

A. Mem Viewer allocates around 1.9 MB of memory but only uses around 600 KB of memory.

Q. What is a skin ?

A. A skin allows you to have a special Mem Viewer with a special appearance. Skins are stored in "skins" directory.

Q. Is it important to close all other programs before installing it?

A. Not really, but you must close any running Mem Viewer instance to install a new version.
