From ancient times in China- thru revered names like:
Pythagoras,Euclid,Eratosthenes,Fermat,Mersenne,Cataldi,Legendre,Gauss,Chebyshev,Riemann,
and mathematicians of today prime numbers have been intriging and challenging.

A definition is simple: A prime number is one whose only positive divisors are itself and 1.

Prime numbers are more than a mathematical curiosity. They are useful in number theory and cryptography.
There are many outstanding conjectures such as that proposed by Goldbach to Euler in 1742

"every even integer>2 is the sum of 2 primes"
