Installation


To install Miraplacid Screen Capture 1.2 follow these steps:
  1. Download Miraplacid Screen Capture 1.2 from http://www.miraplacid.com/products/mcap.shtml
  2. Unzip the downloaded file mcap.zip or run mcap.exe if you have downloaded self-extracting package
  3. Run Setup.exe (self-extracting package will run Setup automatically)
  4. Click "Next" button

  5. Make sure you are agree with the license statement and click "I agree" button

  6. To install to this folder, click "Next" button. To install to a different folder, click "Browse" button and select another folder.

  7. Click "Finish" button

  8. Miraplacid Screen Capture icon will appear in Windows System Tray

    Additionally, shortcuts to Miraplacid Screen Capture will be installed to desktop and Programs folder of Start Menu.

    After installation, Miraplacid Screen Capture will be launched and its registration dialog will appear above the final installation screen.

Registration


If you use unregistered version of Miraplacid Screen Capture, the following dialog will appear upon its startup:

  1. "First name", "Last name" and "Keycode" are registration parameters of your copy of Screen Capture.
    This information will be provided in your receipt upon purchase.
  2. "Register" - button to register your copy of Screen Capture.
    Please, be accurate when filling registration information: all parameters are case-sensitive.
  3. "http://www.miraplacid.com" - this button will open a new window of your web browser with home page of Miraplacid web site.
  4. "Continue" - this button will appear on the dialog only during trial period (15 days). After trial period expiration, this button will not be present and you will be able only to register Screen Capture or exit.
  5. "Buy online" - this button will open a new browser window with Screen Capture purchase page at our billing.
  6. "Exit" - this button will prevent Screen Capture from further loading.

Uninstallation


To uninstall Miraplacid Screen Capture
  1. Run Setup.exe
  2. Click "Next" button

  3. In "Reinstall/Uninstall" dialog select "Unistall Miraplacid Screen Capture" and click "Next"

  4. Click "Ok". Miraplacid Screen Capture successfully uninstalled.

Miraplacid Screen Capture Settings


Miraplacid Screen Capture allows you to create custom configurations. You can have as many configurations as you need.
Miraplacid Screen Capture comes with following pre-defined configurations:
  • TGA : High Quality Picture (640x480)
  • TGA : High Quality Picture (800x600)
  • TGA : High Quality Picture (1024x768)
  • TGA : High Quality Picture (1600x1200)
  • BMP (Bimtmap 24 bit RGB)
  • TIFF CCITT Group 4
  • TIFF CCITT Group 4 : Invert
  • TIFF CCITT Group 3
  • TIFF CCITT Group 3 : Invert
  • TIFF CCITT Group 4 : Border Detection
  • TIFF CCITT Group 3 : Border Detection
  • TIFF CCITT Group 4 : Border Detection & Invert
  • TIFF CCITT Group 3 : Border Detection & Invert
  • JPEG : 0.8 Gamma (saving from IE)
  • PNG : 0.8 Gamma (saving from IE)

To open Screen Capture, click the Icon on Windows System Tray

Configuration page

Miraplacid Screen Capture

  1. "Configuration" - select pre-defined configuration or specify a name for new one.
    If you are going to re-use your current configuration in future - assign it an unique name and push "Save" button. To delete a configuration, select it and push "Delete" button.
  2. "Image Type" - specify graphics format. Supported formats are: Windows Bitmap (.bmp), JPEG (.jpg), Targa (.tga), TIFF (.tif), PNG (.png).
  3. "Image Output" - format specific, image quality or compression algorithm settings.
    To reduce file size, it is recommended to use JPG with 60% quality for pictures, TIFF CCITT Group 4 for black and white text document.
  4. "Image Scaling" - scale the result image to desired size. Choose "Bilinear scaling" for faster printing or "Bicubic scaling" for ultra high quality results. Bilinear scaling is usually good enough.
    • "Percents" - set scaled image width and height in percents if checked, in pixels otherwise.
    • "Constrain Proportions" - scaling preserves image proportions if checked.
    • "Width","Height" - set desired image size in pixels or percents (depends on "Percent" state).
  5. "Borders" - clips off unused white borders in your document.
    "Space Width" and "Space Height" - set border width and height to be preserved and saved with image.
  6. "Gamma Correction" - make the image darker of brighter. You can turn this feature on or off with "Enable" checkbox.
  7. "HSV" - Hue/Saturation/Value control.
  8. "Miscellaneous" - "Original Name" - do not add "1" to the end of file name for the first screenshot. You can turn on or off number for the first page.
  9. "Miscellaneous" - "Grayscale" - convert image to grayscale.
  10. "Miscellaneous" - "Invert Image" - invert image colors.
  11. "Execution options" - "Active" - using this checkbox you may temporary disable Screen Capture and use default PrintScreen processor, then re-enable it. This option applies immediately and syncronized with "Active" checkbox in system tray icon menu.
    When disabled, Screen Capture tray icon changes:

  12. "Execution options" - Run on StartUp" - add Miraplacid Screen Capture to Windows System Tray when Windows starting up. If you have turned this option off, you may launch Miraplacid Screen Capture at any time by clicking the icon on your desktop or from Start Menu.
  13. "Invisibility" - Screen Capture feature which allows you to hide it from screen with user-defined hot key; system tray icon will be hidden too.
    In this mode, screenshots will be generated without popping-up the dialog using pre-configured settings. To show Screen Capture window and system tray icon again, press the same hot key.
    • "Enable" - enables/disables Invisibility feature.
    • "Sound on PrintScreen" - if checked and Screen Capture is in hidden mode, it will play a "camera" sound on screenshot.
    • "Hotkey" - set a hot key for Invisibility mode on and off. Default is F12.
"Run on StartUp" and "Invisibility" controls will be applied and saved after "Ok" button click. "Cancel" button restores their previous state.
