Welcome to My Music! Demo Version 2.0

INSTALLATION:
To install, double-click on the "My Music!.prc" file. If you desire to use my pre-set Genre, Series, etc., also double-click on the included .PDB files. Then, HotSync your PDA.

This Demo version is fully functional, however, your ability to use it will expire after 30 days. I suggest entering enough music titles to see how the program works and determine if it is beneficial to you. If you like the program, I ask that you purchase it for $4.00.

The registered version will use the same Demo version databases but I cannot guarantee that data will not be lost. Limiting the number of music titles entered in the Demo version would prevent the frustration of re-entering a large number of titles. Also, registered users will receive a conversion utility to create your music databases on a PC then HotSync it to your PDA.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS:
The application and most functions should be self-explanatory--I've worked hard to make it that way. That said, a few items may need further explanation.

Page Up/Down:
Many of the lines contain "dynamic sizing" (i.e., they automatically grow to meet the size of the entry) and can be scrolled using the Page UP/DOWN buttons. These buttons also work on the "All Music" and filtered music screens.

SORT:
If a music artist is changed, the database should be re-sorted. This is accomplished by pressing the [SORT] button on the "Edit Music" screen. If not done, the artist will remain in its current location (e.g., If the artist "Thirteenth Warrior" is changed to "13th Warrior," the artist will remain between artists starting with "S" and "U." If the [SORT] button is pressed, the artist will move to the numeric section, before the alpha section.).

RANDOM:
If you want to listen to an artist but can't decide which one, pressing the [RANDOM] button on the "Edit Music" screen will display a random artist/title for your consideration.

FIND:
While displaying the "Edit Music" screen, you can use the PDA [FIND] button (i.e., the magnifying glass) to search the database for the entered word (touch the screen on the item displayed under the "My Music!" section of the "Find" screen). This is helpful when trying to get to the middle of a large database.

Application Improvements:
Several enhancements have been made to this version of My Music! (many at the request of registered users).

The amount of data that can now be captured for each artist/title has increased covering three pages.
This application allows for a catalog number (like at a library) and entries can be sorted by this number.
A "Quick View" screen has be added to allow viewing essential data (without labels) on one page.
Tapping the symbol (looks like two "pages," one on top of the other) next to a text line will allow full screen viewing/editing of the field.
"All Music" can be sorted by Artist, Title or Catalog#. The [SORT] button should be pressed when changing to a different list (the sort order does not change automatically).
Music can now be filtered by Status (own, rented, wanted, etc.), Rating, and Location (car, living room, library, etc.). When filtering, touch the down arrow on the bottom line (next to [View All]) and select the desired filter.

At the request of several users, I have added an "item total" that is displayed in the upper right-hand corner of the "All Music" and filtered music screens. The program that I use to design my applications does not include a feature to perform this. I have, however, made a work around.

In order for the feature to work, there is a check box in the upper right-hand corner of the "Edit Music" screen. The default is checked which means the item will be counted. Tapping on the checkmark will un-check the box and the item will not be counted. For current users, your database will need to be updated for this feature. This is done by loading My Music! version 2.0, then viewing each item. This may take some time if you have a large database but it is a necessary step. Once this is done, when viewing a list, tap on the small line next to "Total" in the upper right-hand corner to refresh the number.

If you share this program with your friends (I hope you do), strongly encourage them to purchase and register it in their own name. Registered users will receive free updates.
