Deploy NetWatcher
It is easy to deploy NetWatcher on LAN, Internet or dial-up
Network, as long as TCP/IP protocol is setup. You can set up one or
more Server with many Clients.
NetWatcher is a kind of network supervision and using TCP/IP
protocol, so all network addressing and communication must comply
with TCP/IP standard. That is basically all computers can reach
either in same network segment or within network reachable routing
tables.
For all NetWatcher Clients on Local Area Network, NetWatcher Server
can automatically detect them and add them to supervision list;
For all Clients on dial-up or Internet Network, you have to add
them manually at NetWatcher Monitor main menu Actions->Add
Client;
If NetWatcher Monitor can not detect Clients automatically, you have
to add them one by one manually at NetWatcher Monitor main menu
Actions->Add Client.
Note: You must install NetWatcher Client first on the
computers which you want to supervise and control, and then
NetWatcher Server can detect and supervise them.
Deployment of NetWatcher
NetWatcher Server and Client could be anywhere in a network
environment. NetWatcher Monitor and Log Server have same network
deployment.

VPN or RAS Technology Usage
As we mentioned, NetWatcher is a kind of network supervision and
using TCP/IP protocol; all computers could reach either in same
network segment or within network reachable routing tables. But in
some cases, computers are not TCP/IP reachable. For example, when
NetWatcher Server is located outside LAN or Firewall, and we want
to supervise the Client inside LAN, it’s impossible to build the
TCP/IP routing. However, we can use other technologies to achieve
network TCP connection. VPN or RAS is an optional technology.
Please consult VPN or RAS vendors for more information.
The secondary suggestion is to use NetWatcher
Monitor
Email Report feature, assign an email address for NetWatcher
Client and receive periodical email report on screen capture, URL
and program access of supervised computer.
When NetWatcher Server is located in LAN, it can supervise any
Clients anywhere on network.
