2. File to file conversion

To perform a conversion from a file, navigate to the "Advanced" -tab. Make sure the "File" -radio button is checked, and press "Open" to select a local file. The file can be a basic text file or CSV-file, containing Arabic numbers or Roman numerals each on their own line. For example:

10

21

XL

MCM

and so on...

Now choose an output file by pressing "Open" -button on the right side of the output file field. You can save the file either as a text document (.txt) or CSV-file (.csv). Both formats include the input and output values of the conversion. The CSV-file can easily be opened with spreadsheet software like MS Excel or OpenOffice Calc.

4. Long Roman numerals

Long roman numerals are indicated with parenthesis "()" around them. This means that the numeral inside the parenthesis is multiplied with 1000. For example (M) is 1 000 000 (one million). When converting Roman numbers to Arabic numbers, you can specify a long Roman numeral by placing it inside parenthesis. It is also possible to place many numerals inside the same parenthesis, for example (MD). This way both M and D are treated as long numerals.
