This is Presenter's Tool, a computer program for presenters like students, teachers or representatives of a company. It has many useful features to help you getting the presentation go smoothly.

With the help of this program you can
* pin windows so they stay in front of everything (except other pinned windows)
* display the given keypresses in a separate window (when you need to show the required hotkey combination for a large group of people)
* black out, hide under a screen saver or switch off the screen (blacking out is very useful if a video projector does not have such a feature)
* draw freely on the screen (aids visually the listeners to concentrate on the appropriate area of the screen)

The program stays in normal use as a tray icon in the notification area (known also as a system tray, the correct term varies).

Some functions of the program are activated using accelerator keys while other ones are activated by clicking a certain menu item on the tray icon menu.

HOW DO PIN A WINDOW?
--------------------

Before you can do so the pinner must be activated in the Settings window. Toggle a check in the 'Activated' check box that is located in the 'Window pinner' region. Assign an appropriate accelerator key (or combination). The selected one cannot overlap with the accelerator key of the key display.

HOW DO SHOW GIVEN KEYS ON THE SCREEN?
-------------------------------------

Before you can do so the key display must be activated in the Settings window. Toggle a check in the 'Activated' check box that is located in the 'Key display' region. Assign an appropriate accelerator key (or combination). The selected one cannot overlap with the accelerator key of the window pinner.

HOW DO BLACK OUT THE SCREEN?
----------------------------

Presenter's Tool needs to be minimized into the notification area. Click on the application icon with the right mouse button and select "Obscure screen" and then "Black out".

The second option on the "Obscure screen" menu is useful when you want to lock your computer ("Activate screen saver" with a password protected screen saver). Finally, to save your monitor or energy (or both) select "Turn monitor off". It switches the monitor immediately to energy saving mode, without the need to wait until the selected delay runs out (located in Control Panel).

HOW DO MARK CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SCREEN?
----------------------------------------

Presenter's Tool needs to be minimized into the notification area. Click on the application icon with the right mouse button and select "Draw on screen". The left and right mouse buttons produce different line widths. Line colors can be changed in the Settings window.

To point out better some areas on the screen (which are somehow associated with the presentation) you can separate them from the rest of the screen by drawing lines around them. Another method is drawing an arrow, pointing to the important thing. The drawing is performed by freehand (i.e. all movements of your hand are recorded). This enables you to even write on the screen letter by letter.
