Allow Field Clipping

The Allow Field Clipping check box determines whether overflow field representation is enabled for the selected field(s).
  • Select this check box to disable overflow field representation. This means that if the value in the field is too large for the field, the value will be truncated. For example, if you have a field that is sized to allow 5 characters, and the value in the field is 3708.19, the field will print the value: 3708.1 (assuming that the field values are left-justified).
  • Clear this check box to disallow field clipping and enable overflow field representation. With overflow field representation enabled, values that are too large for their fields will be represented by a string of # signs. For example, if you have a field that is sized to allow 5 characters, and the value in the field is 3708.19, the field will print: #####. This lets you know that the field needs to be resized (or that you need to select the Can Grow property).
