DollarDE (fractionNumber, fractionBase)

Description
DollarDE takes a number representing a fraction and converts it into a normal decimal number.
Arguments
  • fractionNumber is a number representing the fraction to be converted.
  • fractionBase is a positive number which, truncated, specifies the base of the fraction that is to be created.
  • Returns
    Number value of the fraction.
    Action
    DollarDE takes a number representing a fraction and converts it into a normal decimal number. See the examples below for how fractions are represented.
    Examples
    DollarDE(1.1,8)
    Returns 1.125. The fraction 1.1 was interpreted as 1 and 1/8 which equals 1.125.
    DollarDE(2.13,16)
    Returns 2.8125. The fraction was interpreted as 2 and 13/16.
    DollarDE(2.45,16)
    Returns 4.8125. The fraction was interpreted as 2 and 45/16 which reduces to 4 and 13/16.
    DollarDE(1.16,8)
    Returns 1.2. This was interpreted as 1 and 1.6/8.
    Comments
    This function is designed to work like the Excel function of the same name.
