Roman

Description
Converts an Arabic numeral to a Roman numeral, as text.

  • Roman (arabicVal)
  • Roman (arabicVal, form)
  • Arguments
  • arabicVal is a number representing the Arabic number you want converted. Valid values are 0 through 3999.
  • form is a number specifying the type of Roman numeral you want. The Roman numeral style ranges from Classic to Simplified, becoming more concise as the value of form increases. See the examples below. Since form is an optional argument, if it is omitted then Classic is assumed for the form value.

    Examples
    You could use this function to print lower case page numbers in Roman numerals. For example:
    LCase (Roman (PageNumber))
    Other examples:
    Roman (499,0)
    Returns CDXCIX
    Roman (499,1)
    Returns LDVLIV.
    Roman (499,2)
    Returns XDIX.
    Roman (499,3)
    Returns VDIV.
    Roman (499,4)
    Returns ID.
