Crystal Reports for Eclipse Designer Guide

Opening and docking views

Crystal Reports includes the following views that you can use to see various reports and report objects:
  • The "Field Explorer"
  • The "Data Source Explorer"
  • The "Outline" view
  • The "Navigator" view
  • The "Properties" view
Open any of these views by using the commands on the Show View submenu of the Window menu. If the view is closed, its command opens it; if the view is already open, its command sets focus to it.
After installation, each view opens in a docked position in the Report Designer. You can dock views in any area of the designer by dragging them to a new location.
Click a view's title bar to put it in free-floating mode. In free-floating mode, the view can be dragged to any position. When you drag the view, a placement frame shows you where it will be placed. You can also resize a view by dragging any of its edges with the Resizing cursor.

Note: When you double-click the title bar of a view, the program expands the view to full size.
You can create a single, multi-tabbed view from the "Field Explorer" view, the "Outline" view, the "Properties" view, and the "Navigator" view by dragging the views on top of each other.
Click the tabs in the amalgamated view to change focus from one view type to another.
