Floor

Description
Floor returns a number that has been rounded to the multiple that you specify.

  • multiple is a multiple that you want to round the x value to.

    This function rounds down (away from zero).
    Examples
    Floor(3.5,1)
    Returns 3.
    Floor(-2.5,-2)
    Returns -2.
    Floor(-2.5,2)
    Returns -2.
    Floor(5.43,.05)
    Returns 5.40.
    Floor(.43,-1)
    Returns 0.
    Comments
  • Crystal Reports ignores the sign of the multiple, and the result of the function takes the sign of the first parameter.
  • Values are always rounded down when they are adjusted away from zero (without regard to the sign of the value). If number is an exact multiple of multiple, no rounding occurs.
  • 0 is not allowed as the multiple argument. Using 0 in this way results in an error. However, Floor(0,0) is allowed, and it returns 0.
