Crystal Reports for Eclipse Designer Guide

Using drag-and-drop (DnD) to add objects to Crystal Reports

You can add objects to your report by using the report designer's actions, or you can use the drag-and-drop (DnD) feature. The DnD feature lets you drag objects from the project workspace and drop them onto the report. The types of objects that you can drag onto a report include images, Java classes, and other reports.
When you drag a Java class onto a report, it becomes a POJO data source. When you drag another report onto your main report, it becomes a subreport.
Note:
  • When you try to add a report that already contains a subreport, its subreport will be discarded. You cannot have a subreport within a subreport.
  • You can only drag-and-drop objects that are supported by Crystal Reports.
