Crystal Reports for Eclipse Designer Guide

Formulas ("Field Explorer" view)

Use the Formulas branch of the tree as a gateway for editing, renaming, duplicating, or deleting formulas, creating new formulas, or inserting formula fields into your report.
The formula list displays the names of all the formulas currently in your report. You insert formulas by dragging them into the report, or by selecting them and then right-clicking and clicking Insert.
Insert
Right-click and select this option to insert the formula selected in the Formulas list into your report.
New
This option is available from the root of the Formulas branch so you can create a new formula for your report even when there are no existing formulas.
Edit
This option opens the Formulas page of the Crystal Reports designer and displays the currently selected formula for you to edit.
Rename
This option lets you rename the formula you select in the Formulas list.
Delete
This option deletes the formula field selected in the Formulas list. If the formula is already on the report, it will also be deleted from the report.
