Crystal Reports for Eclipse Designer Guide

To map database fields

  1. On the Crystal Reports menu, click Set Datasource Location.
The Change Data Source dialog box appears.
  2. Select the new data source and click OK.
Another Change Data Source dialog box appears.
  3. Click the database field in the new data source list.
  4. Select the field you want to map to the corresponding field in the existing data source list.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have mapped all the fields you want to map.
  6. Click OK.
You do not have to remap every report field. For example, if you delete a database field, it is not necessary to remap its corresponding report field, since you will not need that field in your report.
On some occasions, you might want to unmap or unlink report and database fields that you have already mapped. For example, you might mistakenly map the wrong fields or want to map a report field to a database field that you have already mapped.
