Crystal Reports for Eclipse Designer Guide

To set up record selection using the Record Filter dialog

  1. On the Crystal Reports menu, click Record Filter.
    The Record Filter dialog box appears.

    Tip: You can also click the Record Filter button on the toolbar.
  2. In the Record Filter dialog box, click Add Filter.
  3. From the database list, click the field to be filtered upon.
  4. From the operator list, click the operator for your filter.
  5. Click the value instruction, and input the values.
    The value instruction varies depending upon the operator you selected. The value instructions are Enter a Value, Choose Values, and Choose Min/Max.
    Note:
    • Enter a Value requires only one value.
    • Choose Min/Max requires two values.
    • Choose Values requires a custom number of values specific to your report.
    • When the value instruction is Choose Values, click on Choose Values and the Edit Values dialog box appears. Click New, enter the value, and click OK.
  6. Click OK.
    The filter now appears in the Record Filter.

    Tip: To base record selection on more than one field, click Add Filter for each field you want to include.
    A selection formula is generated based on your specifications, limiting the report to the records you indicated.
