This is a tool which allows you to copy files of any type from broken media (damaged CD/DVD disks, flash, floppy, hard disks). You can also use it to copy files through local network area with unstable connection. It is absolutely free and extremely compact 72 kilobytes.

Main features of the software are:
* no changes are made in source file
* copy files ignoring bad fragments (writes nulls to the destination file).
* read bad fragments (and only them) from another copy, that can be broken also this does not matter
* rewrite null fragments from compact image-file that can be transferred over internet
* copy files through unstable LAN with stop/resume ability from explorer popup menu
* you can easily merge two files
* intuitive step by step interface with instructions
* you can manually specify how many sectors to skip while reading bad fragment
* full log-report with bad or skipped sectors numbers that can be used to compile an image-file later
* multilingual interface (in future betas)

 Short description:

The program reads file until it seeks on bad sector. In case of any read error it asks you what to do the next: skip unreadable sectors and how many or read this sector from another copy of this file. Note, reading from scratched CD-ROMs will take some time because of specific driver functionality.

If you copy file with skipped sectors you will receive destination file with fragments filled with null bytes. In many cases this is not a problem to play some kind of files, such as video (avi, jpeg, dat). In case of documents (doc, txt) you can loose several paragraphs. Even if you copy the damaged zip-file, the probability of working capacity of a greater part of files containing in it is very great.

However the most important function is reading bad fragments from another copy of file - is has gained very much many people. Now it is possible, not caring about safety of documents, to write their two copies even on a bad diskette - the probability that Skopin FileCopier will restore 100 % an initial file is very great.
