Cabinets are
the outermost section of SoftCabinets software. In a real-world
situation, if you wish to see a file, then you first open your
cabinet, then pull one of the shelves in it, and the files kept
in that shelf, are in front of you.
In the same manner, when you wish to store
or see a folder shortcut in SoftCabinets, then you first select
a Cabinet. As soon as you select a Cabinet, it starts showing its
own Shelves. There are total 3

The Folder-Locations are the places where
you store your favorite or important folder-shortcuts, and they
appear on the far right-side of the main window of
SoftCabinets.
1. To store a folder-shortcut in a
Folder-Location, right-click a Folder-Location and choose: New Folder-Location
(shortcut)... from the context menu
2. The folder selection window appears.
Select the desired folder by double-clicking it (the selected folder’s name will appear in
the Folder-Location Title text box. Changing this title will
not change the actual name of the folder).
3. Once you have selected a folder, click
on the Store This Folder Location button. The name of
the folder-shortcut appears in the Folder-Location.
To open a folder, double-click on the
Folder-Location (showing the name of a folder-shortcut).
If you get an error-message, it means that
either the destination folder has been renamed / moved /
deleted, or you have just given a title to this Folder-Location but have not stored any folder-shortcut in it.
To rename a Folder-Location, right-click
on it and choose Rename Title... from the context menu. Enter the desired name in
the Folder-Location Title dialog.
Renaming the title of a Folder-Location
does not change the actual name of the folder. With this
feature you can make the names of your folder-shortcuts more
meaningful. For example, you can store a folder-shortcut called NEW DOWNLOADS and
change its title to PARTY SONGS or SONGS FOR NEXT OUTING.
TIP: You can
rename a Folder-Location even if you have not stored a
folder-shortcut in it.
1. To remove a folder-shortcut from its
Shelf, right-click on the desired Folder-Location and choose Remove... from the
context menu.
A warning message appears, confirming
whether you really want to remove this Folder-Location.
2. Click YES if you wish to removed this Folder-Location, or
click NO if you wish to retain it.
Removing a Folder-Location does not
actually delete any folder from your PC. It only deletes the
folder shortcut currently stored in that Folder-Location.
