SofTrack Local Workstation Agent for Windows 9x/ME
==================================================
FOR CONNECTING TO NT/2000/2003 SERVERS
Updated: September 30, 2003
==================================================

Update: Version 1.90d (and later) of STLWA-LM.EXE no longer
uses the same mailslot pipe that is used WINPOPUP.EXE
to display SofTrack Server Messages regarding license
profile status (i.e. License Blocked, Queued, etc.).

This version of the SofTrack Local Agent is for connecting to a Microsoft
Windows NT/2000 Server.

This README.TXT includes a listing of available runtime options:

/install
Will update the local registry to load STLWA-LM.EXE after login.
Once the registry is updated the program terminates WITHOUT
           loading.

	   The Registry Key modified is:
	   HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

For this to work, the STLWA-LM.EXE, STLWA-WE.EXE, STLWA.VXD and
STLWA-LM.INI files must all be located in C:\WINDOWS or other
search path that is available immediately after login.

/installd XYX

Will update the local registry to load STLWA-LM.EXE XYZ seconds
after login. This option is available to delay the loading
of the SofTrack Local Agent, occasionally there are other
applications that are loading at login that need to complete
prior to SofTrack's loading. The only case we know if is a
custom application, no commercial appliations we know of
require the use of this option, you can use the /install option
           instead.

/sa
When loaded, will display the name of the Server connected
           to.

/nt
Ordinarily STLWA-LM.EXE looks for STLWA-LM.INI to designate the
NT/2000 Server to connect to, if this switch is used the
designated server is used instead of the value in STLWA-LM.INI.

           Usage: STLWA-LM /nt NTSERVER

Tip: Specify _only_ the server's name, not full path:
                 ( \\server or www.server )

/notlocalonly

Use this switch to allow the SofTrack Local Agent to meter all
files that are run regardless of where the file is housed, i.e.
           local; server-based; NAS/SAN device; etc.

When you use this switch you will need to define the files to
meter in the Local Windows File Tab in the License Profile
(in SOFTRACK.EXE) -- when defining the file, use the filename only, do NOT include the path

Lastly, when you use this switch it will be remembered in the
STLWA-LM.INI file, see the default STLWA-LM.INI included in
the same subdirectory as this file. If set to 1 it will be
that same as specifying /notlocalonly on the command line.

AlwaysAllowRenames

This option is only settable in the STLWA-LM.INI.

To set, enter the following in the stlwa-lm.ini under the [STLM] section:

           AlwaysAllowRenames=1

If present, this option tells the local agent to always allow the renaming
of executable files. This option should only be used on Administrator desktops
or where the creation of executable files is permissible.

AllowIEAccess

This option is only settable in the STLWA-LM.INI.

To set, enter the following in the stlwa-lm.ini under the [STLM] section:

           AllowIEAccess=1

If set to 1, this option tells the local agent to always allow the browsing
of the internet regardless of the server option setting.

If set to 0, this option tells the local agent to always block browsing
of the internet regardless of the server option setting.

When set to 0, the following "local" addresses are browsable:

           http://127.0.0.1

           https://127.0.0.1

           file://

           res://

           javascript:

           sysimage:

And the following nonroutable IP addresses are also allowed:

           http://10.

           https://10.

           http://172.16.0.0 through 172.31.255.255

           https://172.16.0.0. through 172.31.255.255

           http://192.168.

           https://192.168.

DoNotShowBuildError

This option is only settable in the STLWA-LM.INI.

To set, enter the following in the stlwa-lm.ini under the [STLM] section:

           DoNotShowBuildError

If set to 1, this option tells the local agent to not show the load time
error related to not being able to find the SofTrack Server Agent or if
the local agent requires an updated SofTrack Server Agent. When you hide
this error the user will not be aware that the local agent is aborting.

If set to 0, or if you remove this option from the file, it will result
in the load time error being displayed if the agent cannot find the
SofTrack Server Agent or if a newer SofTrack Server Agent is required.
