New file: WINV.EXE

Purpose: WINV.EXE is used when you want to silently run INVENTRY.EXE - what WINV.EXE does is take the command line parameter(s) you provide and automatically run INVENTRY.EXE with those parameters. Note: If you are using the "verbose" parameter (an "*") it will not provide verbose output.

Usage:  WINV server_name

Note: WINV.EXE and INVENTRY.EXE must be in the same directory for WINV.EXE to correctly function.

=====================================
Command line option:

INVENTRY @ C:

or

INVENTRY @ \\server\share

The new "@" command will send the COMPUTER_NAME.NEW file to the indicated path.

This can be very useful when collecting inventry data from workstations not connected to your network. For instance, "INVENTRY @ A:" will send the computer's inventry data to A: (floppy drive).

To use, simply copy the COMPUTER_NAME.NEW files to your server's METER.LOG path / Computers subdirectory.

Once there, you can generate reports from the data contained within these files.
