Adjust the ambient or sound fx volume levels in Sovereign by pressing escape to access the in game menu and selecting Options. The audio menu is the first menu displayed.
While the options menu is visible click "Display" located in the top center of your screen to access the display and performance options.
Windowed: When enabled Sovereign will run in windowed mode, otherwise Sovereign will encompass your entire viewable display.
Startup Dialog: When enabled Sovereign will display a resolution select dialog during start-up.
Resolution: Select one of the listed screen resolutions for Sovereign to run under.
Pixel Lamps: This is the number of lights that will effect the specular highlights of each individual object. Lowering this value can offer a performance increase. The performance gain from lower values here is particularly useful if you are experiencing slowdowns in the Cavern environment.
Anti-Aliasing: Anti-aliasing is a full screen filter that smooths the edges of objects on the screen. While anti-aliasing offers a wonderful visual enhancement it can come at quite a performance cost. each "x" refers to a pass, 2x is two pass or two sample while 8x allows the filter to sample the image eight times over.
Particle Detail: This refers to the amount of special fx particles such as fire or smoke.

Click "Control" at the top right of the screen to access the control options menu. From here you can customize Sovereigns key mappings or the mouse sensitivity, speed at which your character responds to mouse movements. Select "Page 1" or "Page 2" to modify additional key mappings.
