Infoblox IPAM WinConnect™ LE
INFORMATION  

This archive contains Infoblox IPAM WinConnect LE, bundled as a fully runnable VMware image, enabling a quick and easy installation.

 

You can manage a maximum of 500 active IP addresses.

 

Attempting to run a discovery on a large subnet may exceed this limit and take a significant amount of time to complete. Should you need a solution to manage a large network, please contact Infoblox.








REQUIREMENTS

To run this product, you need:

    VMware player

    Download a free version of Vmware Player at http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ to install a fully functional Infoblox IPAM WinConnect LE environment in 5 minutes, without any configuration hassles.
    Infoblox IPAM WinConnect LE images can run on any Windows or Linux laptop, desktop or server.
     

    An IP address for the VMware guest

    The VMware guest OS requires an IP address to run, which can be manually configured if no DHCP server is available.
    Please note that the leased IP must never change if you use DHCP.


INSTALLATION
     
  Step 1. Download and install the VMware player program.
  Step 2. Extract the IInfoblox IPAM WinConnect LE archive in a directory of your choice.
  Step 3. Start the VMware player, and navigate to the directory where Infoblox IPAM WinConnect LE has been extracted.
  Step 4. Select the file named 'Infoblox-IPAM-WinConnect-LE.vmx' and click on 'Open'.
  Step 5. Follow the wizard to configure the keyboard layout and the network settings.
  Step 6. Connect to http://<IP-Infoblox>/ (substitute the <IP-Infoblox> with the IP address of the VMware guest)
     
USAGE HINTS

To use VMware player window:

  • To interact with the VMware player window, click on it or hit 'Ctrl-g'
  • To leave the VMware player window, hit 'Ctrl-Alt'


Once the VMware has finished loading Infoblox IPAM WinConnect LE, follow the on-screen instructions.

You can log on Infoblox IPAM WinConnect LE with a browser at the following address (substitute the <IP-Infoblox> with the IP address of the VMware guest):

  • URL: http://<IP-Infoblox>/
    • login: admin
    • password: infoblox

SHELL COMMANDS

You can type all commands from the shell available on the VMWare screen (Linux console 1, Alt-F1 to activate)

If you need to manually configure the IP address of the VMware guest:

  1. run the command sudo /sbin/netconfig and follow the wizard's directions.
  2. run the command sudo reboot

If you need to reset your keyboard settings:

  1. run the command resetkb and select your keymap from the list.

In order to shutdown the Linux OS, use sudo halt.

To display the help screen, run the info command.
